Luqira

Luqira vs Bambuser, a human on your site or an AI on the marketplaces

Bambuser publishes its prices from $0 and puts a human host on your own storefront. Luqira runs a generated host on the marketplaces, unattended.

Bambuser has been building live video since 2007, is publicly listed, publishes its prices from $0, and puts a live shopping player on your own site with a human host in front of it. Luqira puts an AI host on TikTok and Shopee. The decision is about who presents and where, not about which feature list is longer.

The short answer

Choose Bambuser if you want a real person hosting, on your own storefront, from a vendor with a long track record. It describes the product as adding "a live and on-demand video player to your website, apps, and social channels", its lineage runs back to "broadcasting the world's first mobile live stream from a Nokia handset" in 2007, it has been public since its IPO, and it publishes "350+ Clients worldwide", "240 Countries" and "500m+ GMV generated". Its pricing is on the page: Free at "$0", Essential at "$79 /mo", Pro at "$249 /mo", Enterprise custom.

Choose Luqira if nobody is available to host and the buyers are on the marketplaces. Luqira's host is generated rather than booked, so the stream runs at 3am and on a public holiday, on 32 destinations including TikTok, Shopee and Lazada, in 85+ languages, answering a live comment in under 200ms.

The honest framing: Bambuser is the more established company with the more transparent pricing, and Luqira removes the constraint Bambuser's model depends on — that somebody is free to go on camera.

The constraint that separates them

Bambuser's model is excellent and it has one requirement: a person has to be free.

That is not a criticism, it is the design. A human host reads the room, improvises, and carries a brand in a way no generated presenter currently matches. Brands that have someone good on camera should use them, and Bambuser is built to make that person's hour count.

The requirement is also the ceiling. A human hour is the unit you are buying, and it does not scale past the number of hours a person will work. Weekends, holidays, the 2am slot in a timezone you sell into but do not live in, and four marketplaces at once are all the same problem repeated: you would need another person.

Luqira's host is generated, so that constraint is simply absent — which is worth exactly as much as your unstaffed hours are worth, and nothing at all if your existing shows already cover your demand.

Where Bambuser is the better buy

The prices are on the page and one of them is zero. Free at "$0" with "250 views per month" and "No credit card needed", then "$79 /mo" and "$249 /mo". Luqira makes you ask for the number that matters most. If you are evaluating this week rather than this quarter, that is a decisive practical difference and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

Eighteen years and a public listing. A company that has been shipping live video since 2007, floated, and reports "350+ Clients worldwide" and "500m+ GMV generated" is a real answer to "will this vendor still be here when our contract renews". Luqira launched in August 2026. On vendor risk, Bambuser wins and it is not a close call.

A human host is better than a synthetic one when you have a good human. Founder-led launches, expert-led category education, anything where the presenter's own credibility is the reason people watch — an AI host is the wrong tool and a worse experience.

The shopper stays inside your funnel. On-site live shopping keeps the customer, the checkout, the analytics and the data relationship with you. Selling inside a marketplace hands all four to the marketplace. That is a genuine, permanent cost of the model Luqira is built around, and for some brands it is disqualifying on its own.

Its own social reach is not nothing. "your website, apps, and social channels" covers real distribution. If your social presence is where your audience is and you have someone to host, you may not need marketplace streaming at all.

Where Luqira is the better buy

The hours nobody was going to staff. The comparison is rarely "AI host versus human host" for the same slot. It is "AI host versus no stream at all" for the other twenty hours of the day, the weekend, and the market whose peak shopping hour is your 4am. Luqira's cost of running an extra hour does not include finding a person willing to work it.

Marketplace destinations. 32 of them, including TikTok Shop, Shopee and Lazada, where Southeast Asian live commerce actually happens. A player embedded in your own site does not appear inside those apps.

Every stream at once, in every language. One session across destinations simultaneously, each with its own live chat that the same agent answers, in 85+ output languages. The human-host model needs a host per language and a host per shift.

A published latency figure and a checkable model. Under 200ms from comment to reply, and a model card on a domain Luqira does not control naming every training corpus and its licence. See the technology page.

Machine access. A public REST API, an MCP server and an A2A endpoint, none of which need a key, an account or a sales call. See the API docs.

If you are choosing between them

  • You have someone good on camera and an audience on your own site → Bambuser, and Luqira is not competing for that.
  • You have neither the host nor the on-site traffic, and your buyers are inside TikTok or Shopee → Luqira.
  • You have shows that work and dead hours around them → these are complementary, not alternatives. Keep the human shows and fill the gaps.
  • You are buying on vendor stability and published pricing above all → Bambuser, on the evidence above.

Before choosing a marketplace destination, check what it allows: TikTok Shop prohibits AI-generated voices in US promotional LIVEs, Shopee approves AI livestreams on application, and YouTube Live, Facebook and Instagram ask for disclosure rather than permission.

Questions

Is Luqira a replacement for a human host?

Usually not. The comparison is rarely "AI host versus human host" for the same slot; it is "AI host versus no stream at all" for the other twenty hours of the day, the weekend, and the market whose peak shopping hour is your 4am. If you have someone good on camera and shows that already work, keep them and fill the gaps.

Which one can I try for free?

Bambuser. Its prices are on the page and one of them is zero: free at $0 with 250 views per month and no credit card needed, then $79/mo and $249/mo. Luqira has no trial at all - you book a demo, then start on a plan. If you are evaluating this week rather than this quarter, that is a decisive practical difference.

What do I give up by selling on a marketplace instead of my own site?

The customer, the checkout, the analytics and the data relationship. On-site live shopping keeps all four with you; selling inside a marketplace hands all four to the marketplace. That is a genuine, permanent cost of the model Luqira is built around, and for some brands it is disqualifying on its own.

Which vendor is the safer bet?

Bambuser, and it is not a close call. It has been shipping live video since 2007, is publicly listed, and reports 350+ clients worldwide and 500m+ GMV generated. Luqira launched in August 2026. On vendor risk there is one answer and it is not ours.
