How Luqira uses cookies and similar technologies, what data they collect, and how to manage your cookie preferences.

This Cookie Policy explains how Luqira ("we," "our," or "us") uses cookies and similar storage technologies when you visit our website and use our AI avatar livestreaming platform (collectively, the "Services"). It explains what these technologies are, exactly which ones we set, why, and how you control them.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to the site owners. Cookies can be "session" cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent" cookies (remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them).

Most of what our website stores is not a cookie at all, but local storage and session storage in your browser. Those are covered by this policy on the same terms, and they are listed by name in section 4, because a technology that is invisible to a cookie scanner still belongs in a policy that claims to describe what we store.

2. Categories We Use

Our cookie banner offers three categories. Strictly necessary is always on; analytics and marketing are off until you turn them on, and nothing in either category is set before you do.

2.1 Strictly Necessary

These are required for the Services to work at all, and are the only ones set without asking you. They cover:

  • Remembering your cookie choice, so we do not ask again on every page
  • Remembering the language you selected and whether you chose the desktop or mobile layout
  • Keeping you signed in and securing your session on the platform
  • Bot detection, abuse prevention, and routing your request to the right server

These cannot be switched off in the banner, because refusing them would mean the site could not remember that you refused. You can still block them in your browser, as described in section 5.

2.2 Analytics

These tell us how the site is actually used, so we can write better pages rather than guess. They let us:

  • Measure page views, session length, and how far down a page people read
  • See which pages are read and where visitors stop
  • See which search terms, links, and campaigns bring people to the site
  • Follow the path visitors take through the site, without identifying who they are
  • Detect errors and slow pages

We use Google Analytics 4 for this, loaded through the Google tag (gtag.js). We do not use Google Tag Manager, and no other analytics product runs on our website. No analytics cookie is set until you turn Analytics on. Before that, Google receives only consent-mode signals that carry no identifier, set nothing on your device, and cannot be tied to you or to a later visit.

2.3 Marketing

This category governs advertising measurement. Turning it on would allow us and our advertising providers to:

  • Measure which advertising campaigns lead to an enquiry or a demo request
  • Attribute a sign-up back to the advertisement that produced it
  • Limit how often you are shown the same advertisement
  • Use your data to personalize the advertising you see elsewhere

We do not currently run any advertising pixel on our website. No Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, or comparable advertising tag is present. Leaving Marketing off also instructs Google to redact advertising identifiers from the measurement data it receives from us, and to pass a click identifier in the page address rather than storing one on your device.

3. Cookies Set on Our Website

Every cookie that can be set through the Services, what it does, which category controls it, and how long it lasts. Each provider has its own privacy and cookie policy.

The two analytics cookies are set only after you turn Analytics on, and the Google Ads cookie only after you turn Marketing on. Refusing either means the cookie is never written at all, rather than written and ignored.

4. Similar Technologies

In addition to cookies, we store the following in your browser. None of it is sent to a third party, and none of it identifies you.

  • Local storage — luqira.consent (your choice on this banner), luqira.lang (your language), and luqira:viewPref (desktop or mobile layout). These are strictly necessary and are kept whatever you choose.
  • Local storage, analytics only — luqira.attr.first and luqira.attr.last record the campaign or link you arrived from, so that if you contact us we know which one to credit. These are written only while Analytics is on, and are erased the moment you turn it off.
  • Session storage — the page you landed on and a one-time marker that stops the site offering you your own language twice. Cleared when you close the tab.
  • Measurement requests — Google Analytics reports an event by sending a short network request rather than by loading a tracking image. We use no pixel tags or web beacons on our website.
  • Fingerprinting — we do not use browser or device fingerprinting, and do not attempt to identify you when you decline analytics.

5. Managing Your Preferences

You control all of this, and refusing is always as easy as accepting:

On your first visit a banner appears offering Accept all, Reject all, and Customize, which lets you turn Analytics and Marketing on or off individually. Reject all is presented as prominently as Accept all. Until you choose, both optional categories stay off; ignoring or scrolling past the banner is never treated as agreement. Your choice is stored in your browser and remembered for twelve months, after which we ask again. You can change or withdraw it at any time through the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page, which reopens the banner.

5.2 Browser Settings

Most web browsers allow you to manage cookies through their settings. You can typically:

  • View all cookies stored on your device
  • Delete specific cookies or clear all cookies
  • Block cookies from specific websites or all websites
  • Set your browser to notify you when a cookie is being set

Clearing your browser storage also erases your cookie choice, so the banner will ask again on your next visit. Blocking storage entirely is supported: the site works, and every optional category simply stays off.

6. Retention Periods

How long each item lasts, assuming you do not delete it sooner:

  • Your cookie choice: 12 months, after which the banner asks again
  • Language and layout preferences: until you clear your browser storage
  • Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_ID): up to 24 months from your most recent visit
  • Google Ads (_gcl_aw): up to 90 days
  • Campaign attribution (luqira.attr.*): until you clear your browser storage, or immediately when you turn Analytics off
  • Cloudflare bot detection (__cf_bm): 30 minutes
  • Stripe payment cookies: up to 12 months
  • Session cookies and session storage: deleted when you close your browser

7. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, regulation, or our business practices. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
